Church School

Sunday School

Children at Olivet attend the first 15 minutes of the Sunday morning worship, which always includes a Children’s Sermon. This Children’s Sermon relates to the day’s worship theme but is prepared by the pastor especially for children and youth. Afterwards, the children and youth are excused for their Church School lessons, which are led by volunteer teachers utilizing a Bible-based, Presbyterian curriculum.

Church School begins on Rally Day in September and concludes on Children’s Day in mid-June. During the summer months, children are invited to stay for the entire service, which is shorter and has more of an informal feel to it.

Nursery Care

Infants and toddlers are provided for in our church nursery, lovingly attended by our child care providers Danna Dougherty and Helene Manley. Stories, songs and simple lessons nurture our littlest ones who know they are loved and welcome in the church. The nursery is easily accessible to the sanctuary, making it possible for parents to worship knowing that they can be easily summoned if necessary.
